Eagleray
(Myliobatididaesp.)

The eagle ray is often seen in schools, flapping their modified pectoral fins when they literally fly through the water. The pointy "wings" and long tail make it easy to recognise them. Different species of eagleray are seen around Julian Rocks.

The picture on the right shows a younger white spotted eagle ray feeding, shuffling with its nose in the hope to find some invertebrates hiding in the sand.
