Black-tipped Bullseyes
(Pempheris affinis)
 
First thing you notice is the big eyes. This species of bullseyes is easily distinguished by the black tips on the dorsal and tail fins. Particularly common in Northern New South Wales they are often seen in caves or under ledges where they form schools during the day. Mainly hunting at night the bullseyes eat small crustaceans and cephalopods. It reaches a maximum length of 15 cm.
